About the Camera Club of Hendersonville

Are you interested in photography?

"Interested" may mean you get a kick out of exploring with your new super-automatic camera, enjoy showing your pictures to family and friends and wish you knew how to make those photos better. It might mean you have had a lifelong love of this fascinating art/craft and have pursued it for many years. Or, your own personal interest may lie somewhere in between.

From point and shooter to "Denizen of the Darkroom", digital or chemical, whatever your level of interest may be, you should consider joining the Camera Club of Hendersonville. Celebrating more than 25 years of existence, the club has brought together photographers who enjoy sharing and learning from one another. It offers the beginner an opportunity to learn from the more experienced members. For the practiced camera user, the chance to get together with other kindred souls provides a means to compare ideas, uses of various techniques, equipment, materials and results.

Programs at the monthly meetings are intended to be instructional as well as entertaining. They include talks and demonstrations by professional photographers and our members, and classes with workshops and how-to programs with hands-on demonstrations. A highlight each month is the meet-and-greet time before the meeting when refreshments are served and people mingle. Additionally, we have a club Photo Forum night once a quarter.

In addition to our regular meetings, field trips are held often. These provide an opportunity to put to use what we have learned, have a question answered or perhaps observe how others may handle a difficult subject.

Special events have included exhibition of members' prints at the Four Seasons Arts Council Gallery on Main Street, as well as a spring and fall show at the Henderson County Library.

Join in! Learn with us and from us. Share your work and experience with friends who also appreciate the challenges and pleasures that photography provides.
