Tryon International Equestrian Field Trip

Tryon Equestrian Center, 25 International Blvd, Mill Springs, NC
Meet in Big Lots parking lot, 204 a, Thompson St. in Hendersonville and we will leave at 9:00am. This is off of Four Seasons Blvd. behind the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. Park at the far end of the lot close to Four Seasons Blvd.
Please have your Liability Release forms signed and your rides arranged so that we can leave by 9 am.
Drive South on I-26 to Hwy 74 East to Pea Ridge Rd. Event will be on the right. Park in front of the huge clock.
They will be having a Hunter/ Jumper event in the main arena. This event judges the horse and rider over the course. Jumper- speed and accuracy of the rider are judged on subjective form. Hunter- judged on the form of the horse. Other photo ops are the side rings, stables and barns. We will meet back under the clock around 12:30- 1:00 pm to leave for lunch.
Return to Hwy 74 West to Hwy 9 North to "Larkins on the Lake". 1020 Memorial Hwy, Lake Lure. The restaurant serves classic American food, has a four star rating and sits right on Lake Lure. After lunch, weather permitting, we can stop at the "Flowering Bridge" for some close-up shots and then return on Hwy 64 back to Big Lots.
Recommended: a zoom lens , a macro lens and a tripod.
The Equestrian Center is a FREE event.
This year please reply on the CCOH Exchange. This will give everyone attending notice of who will be going. This way if you need a ride you can pre-plan who you will be riding with and help us move along in the mornings of the meetup. If you are not on the CCoH Exchange, please contact Ken Weaver who will add you to the Exchange.
Photos that you may take on this field trip can be sent to John Ayre, our Field Trip Video Recap Coordinator. Use the Submission Guide to prepare your images and get them to John by May 10. He will send you a confirmation if he receives them from you.
