Please feel free to participate in all, or any portion, of the field trip . Join, or leave, us at any point along the way.   Destinations: 1. Jackson County Library (Historic Courthouse), Sylva NC  7:45AM to 8:30AM (1 hour, 53 miles from Lowe’s, Arden, NC)      310 Kenner Street, Sylva, NC
 
https://www.discoverjacksonnc.com/attractions/jackson-county-courthouse/     Spend 30 minutes photographing the historic Jackson County Library (Historic Courthouse).  Parking available behind library and on Main St. Depart for Bryson City, NC  8:15 AM.
 
2.  Great Smoky Mountain Railway Depot 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM 45 Mitchell St., Bryson City, NC 28713 .  (approx. 19 miles, 25 minutes, from Sylva NC)
 
Spend 30-45 minutes photographing the trains at the depot. Depart the train depot at 10:15 AM (the train departs depot at 10:30 AM). Drive to Riverview Road (approx. 2.5 miles, 6 minutes from train depot) to photograph the Nantahala Steam train crossing the bridge over the Tuskasegee River. Depart Riverview Road area after train crosses the bridge and travel to the Nantahala Outdoor Center to photograph the steam train passing through the Nantahala Outdoor Center.

3.  Nantahala Outdoor Center 11:00 AM – 12:30PM        https://noc.com/  13077 US-19 (Highway 19 West) Bryson City, NC 28713    (approx.. 14 miles, 20 minutes from Riverview Road)   The Nantahala Steam Train passes through the Nantahala Outdoor Center.  Park anywhere. Proceed to the railroad tracks to photograph the steam train as it passes through the Outdoor Center.  The train is slow so we should beat the train to the Nantahala Outdoor Center.    After the train passes, we will spend the remaining time photographing the area around the Outdoor Center.  The Tuskasegee River passes through the Outdoor Center. Hopefully there will be some rafts and kayaks on the rapids while we are there.
 
4. Lunch:  1:00PM – until Option #1:  River’s End Restaurant (located on the river—with view of the river from tables)   Nantahala Outdoor Center   Option #2: Everett Street Diner, 126 Everett St, Bryson City, NC 28713-6406
 
Ride sharing:  Members who wish to share a ride, and travel together in the same vehicle, should post a notice and contact each other via the CCoH Exchange, personal email, etc.
