By Bill Moss, Published: July 7, 2016

Bullington Gardens is sponsoring a photography contest to celebrate the dahlia.

Amateur photographers may submit no more than two 5x7 prints sized by Sept. 14 in two categories: 18 and under and adult.

The photographs will be judged and a winner in each category will be announced on Sept. 23 with a $100 prize for each winner. The photographs will not be returned and Bullington Gardens has permission to use these photographs (with photographer credit) on its website and newsletter.

Each entrant must include name, email address, phone number and age.  Photographs need to be submitted by Sept. 14 and will be on display during Dahlia Daze.  They can be pictures of dahlias anywhere.  Photos can be dropped off at Bullington Gardens, 95 Upper Red Oak Trail, Hendersonville 28792, Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30. No mounting or matting necessary, just the pictures.

The photography contest is part of Dahlia Daze week at Bullington Gardens Sept. 20-23. Tours and an ikebana demonstration will be free and open to the public but registration is required. On Sept. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. the Gardens will host a wine and hors d’oeuvres celebration in the dahlia garden. Registration is required. Tickets are $20 per person or $100 per person for patrons ($80 will be tax deductible).
