Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), Nelon Farm to photograph buffalo, Landrum, SC 

 

When: 8:30—8:45 AM, Friday, June 28, 2019 

Meet at TIEC ,main parking area, near the main entrance to the stadium.

Destinations: 

1. Jerry & Robin Nelon Farm (5 minutes fromTIEC) meet at TIEC and travel as a group to the farm.

Meet at TIEC stadium entrance at 8:30-8:45 AM. Travel approximately 5 minutes to the Nelon Farm to photograph buffalo. The farm is private property and is owned by friends of Herk & Linda Schmidt. Plan to spend about 30 minutes at the farm photographing the buffalo and the surroundings. They have 23 buffalo calves this year. Hopefully the buffalo will cooperate and be in a good location. The Nelon’s are expecting us at 9:00 AM. 

After photographing the buffalo, we will travel back to Tryon International Equestrian Center to photograph the equestrian events and competitions until lunch time. 

 

2. Tryon International Equestrian Center 10:00 AM – 12:30PM. (admission is free) 

4066 Pea Ridge Rd. Mill Spring, NC 28756 

A number of equestrian events are planned for Friday, June 28. Events will be ongoing in several rings as well as the main stadium. The events on Friday are part of the Tryon Summer 3 (AA/Level 6 CSI 2*), a 4 day event, 6/26-6/29. The main stadium is big. A telephoto lens will be very helpful for photographing the jumping competitions. 

Members are free to roam the grounds at will. Lots of interesting stuff to photograph. 

Meet back in the parking lot at 12:30 PM to travel to Landrum, SC for lunch

There are some interesting shops and some interesting things to photograph in Landrum, SC, near the restaurant, for those who see and photograph some this charming little town.
