Wildcat Falls

Wildcat Falls

This will be the last field trip this year.  Meet in the parking lot in front of LON SEN restaurant. This is behind the Krispy Kreme Doughnut Shop on Four Seasons Blvd. 230 Thompson St. in Hendersonville.

Let's start about 8:30am, drive East on Hwy 64 to I-26 and go South the Hwy 25.   Follow Hwy 25 South cross the South Carolina Line to Hwy 11.   Continue West on Hwy 11 to the STOP sign and  turn right.   There will be a Sonoco Station on the left where we will meet our members from Greenville and  take a restroom and coffee break.  We will then continue West on hwy 11 a few miles to Wildcat Falls which is right next to the road.    A path beside the falls leads to the head of the falls and an old chimney.

Table Rock Falls

Then continue West on Hwy 11 to "Table Rock State Park".  There are signs at the entrance on the right.  A $2.00  entry fee is required.   Drive thru park to the back of the lake next to the restrooms.  The hike to the fall is 25 to 30 yards on a boardwalk.  There is an observation deck at the fall.    Views of the lake and Table Rock Falls as we leave with pull-outs for both.

As we leave the park turn right on Hwy 11 and continue driving west to

"Aunt Sue's Country Corner" for lunch,  107 Country Creek Dr.  Pickens S.C.  This is a 3 1/2 star rating, lunch menu under $10.00.     I am guessing we will be there around 1-1:30 if anyone would like to join us for the second half or some might want to pass on the next fall which is Twin Falls.

Twin Falls

When we leave from lunch turn left out of the parking lot head East on Hwy 11 to a four way stop sign.   This is Hwy 178, turn left for about 10 miles to Cleo Chapman Rd.   and turn left again at "Bob's Place".   Let's not linger here for very long. Drive 2 miles to a T and turn right to Waterfalls Rd. on the right, turn in.  Follow a narrow gravel road to the parking area.   Follow path to the falls.   This is a level trail next to the

Reedy Cove Creek.   Less than a mile, this is an easy hike to Twin Falls.

Estatoe Falls

When we leave this Falls we will go back to the intersection at "Bob's Place.   Turn left.    This is not a busy road, no stop signs or traffic signals so you should have no problem following me to Eastatoe Falls.   I do not have an address for this fall.  It is on private property, its on the cover of Kevin Adams last book on waterfalls.   It is a short hike to the falls.   When we leave the falls turn Left on hwy 178 thru Rosman to hwy 64 towards Brevard.   Turn right on 64 East in Pisgah Forest to return to Hendersonville.
