The image is very balanced, which I like. I'm torn on the subject of the image. Is it the rose? Is it the bottle and glasses? The rose is pulling my eye away. I'm also torn about the use of hard light here, which I think is what is making me struggle with the subject. In the previous image "Checkers and Shine," hard light was appropriate because the beer glass had letters that the artist projected onto parts of the image. The shadows here seem to detract from the image, which I think could be much stronger if a softer, larger light source was used. This would allow the viewer to focus more closely on the bottle and glasses.
