Bob Coffey is a freelance photographer with many years of highly varied photographic experience. His goal is to capture the optimal portrayal of a scene or subject. His works have been published in various newspapers, magazines, calendars, posters and books. He competed as a color darkroom printmaker for over 20 years and converted to digital in 2002.
His professional work began in support of his marketing career by using his images in sales presentations, trade show displays, capability brochures, annual reports, trade magazines and multi-media slide shows. He later broadened his assignments to include weddings, portraits, promotional photos, illustrations for books, industrial images, product shots and still photos for movies. His prints and images have won many awards in local, national, and international competitions.
Beginning in 1980 Bob has been an active member of three clubs; the Delaware Photographic Society (DPS), the Louisiana Photographic Society and the Camera Club of Hendersonville. He has held many positions, including director of programs and director of education and president. He championed the transition to digital photography with instructional sessions, newsletter articles, digital image competition, technical guidance, distribution of digital news and tutorials on Photoshop, Lightroom and flash photography. In 2014 he was honored by the DPS with the designation of Lifetime Member for over 30 years of services.
In 2012 he moved to Hendersonville, NC and joined the Camera Club of Hendersonville and continues his passion for helping others learn more about photography as payback to those who helped him in the past.
