My interest in photography started when I was 11 years old and received a Kodak Brownie camera from my grandparents for my birthday/Christmas. I still have an album of pictures taken with this little camera which reveals the fun I had. My father lent me his manual 35mm camera which I used sparingly through high school. After my son was born, I took a class to develop black and white prints. I loved the class but the chemicals did not agree with me so I did not pursue developing my prints. I spent most of my adult life taking pictures of my children, vacations and family gatherings.

The first thing I did upon retirement was to buy a digital camera and join a camera club in my home town in New Jersey. I then joined a second camera club and have attended workshops and field trips. My goal is to increase my skills and become more of a creative photographer. Now upon moving to North Carolina, I plan to devote more time to my passion - photography. It's rewarding to get lost in taking pictures and editing them. I look forward to learning from the more experienced members in the Camera Club of Hendersonville. Subjects I particularly enjoy are nature photography, landscapes, macro, people and travel. I'm interested in pursuing street photography.
