• Quilt Trail of Western North Carolina 
• Grassy Creek Golf and Country Club – open to the public
• Historic Carson House – Marion NC
• Silver Fork Winery Tours – Morganton, NC
• Mountain Gateway Museum And Heritage Center – Old Fort, NC
• Museum of NC Minerals – right off of the BRP at Little Switzerland
• Woody’s Chair Shop – Spruce Pine (constructed a rocker for JFK)
• Toe River Arts Council Gallery/Shop – Spruce Pine
• DT’s Blue Ridge Java – downtown Spruce Pine – great for coffee and lunch -
• Little Switzerland Books and Beans – downtown Little Switzerland – great for coffee and lunch
• One of A Kind Gallery – Micaville, NC – unique interior and exterior
• Penland School of Crafts – arrangements can be made for a  group tour if folks are interested – lots of old building and scenic views here
• Downtown Spruce Pine is very walkable and has an active RR
• Roan Mountain (about 1 hours drive)
